1st Annual Downtown Cortland Historic
The Cortland Downtown Partnership and C.P. Sanford Photography have teamed up to present the community with the fun challenge of discovering local history while taking the walking tour of downtown Cortland.
The recently created “An Historical walking Tour of Downtown, Cortland, N.Y.” published by the Cortland County Historical Society in conjunction with the Cortland Downtown Partnership, is a perfect compliment to Cortland’s summer downtown events. Summer events like the third annual 2009 Taste of Downtown is an ideal event to showcase the walking tour. “The pamphlet will enhance this year’s events by giving visitors information on the historical architectural details of the downtown created by artisans as long ago as 125 years while shopping, dining and enjoying music”, said Mary-Anne Kane creator of the guide.
To enhance the walking tour guide the Cortland Downtown Partnership and C.P Sanford photography have created a collage of images of significant architectural features from 12 local buildings/homes in and around the local historic district. This summer we challenge you to identify these historic architectural gems and submit your answers to win one of 12 extremely limited signed and framed photographs.
All correctly answered submissions will be entered into a drawing for chance to win one of twelve framed photos. Each contest winner will be presented with a photo this fall on opening night of a public Beard Gallery exhibition dedicated to historical downtown Cortland.
Download the contest insert from www.downtowncortland.com for your An Historical Walking Tour of Downtown brochures or pick one up at the CDP at 9 Main Street in downtown Cortland. Submit your answers to the Beard Building at 9 Main Street in downtown Cortland on or before August 31st, 2009.
See you Downtown!
